Groups and Clubs
Craggy Island is used by many youth groups. . . indoor climbing is all
year round fun and is extremely popular. We have been working in conjunction
with many youth groups - scouts, guides, disabled groups, ATC and many
more.
All sessions are supervised by qualified instructors. In most cases equipment hire is included, with the exception of climbing shoes which can be hired from reception at £2.50 per session. All courses need to be pre-booked and paid. For details please see here
However, this is one area Craggy Island has a problem with. Many groups and clubs are only able to attend in midweek evenings. This is a time when Craggy Island, as large as it is, is often full of climbers enjoying their evening session. We therefore are limited as to the amount of group visits we can offer, and sadly, have had to refuse many. But if you can find other times to make a visit then the chance we can fit you in increases dramatically. More likely times are School term midweek up to 5pm (to finish at 6.30), and School Holidays and Half Terms day times.
We also find many groups have high numbers to cater for sometimes 36 and more, and again, this causes us problems. If you could plan to split your group into a number of smaller sessions over a day or over two or three weeks then this means it becomes possible again. Usually, this does not effect the price either!
