Climbers under 17 and over 8 years old
We
now have many, many young adult climbers climbing as junior comps' and
are proud to have seen many of them start out climbing as complete beginners.
We now see them flying independentaly up many of our routes that many
adults can't climb! Brilliant!
Please read below our for rules on children climbing at our Guildford and Sutton centres.
Guildford
Our lower age limit for children to climb at Craggy Island Guildford is 8 years old (under 8's can climb at our weekend breakfast club. Please see here). To comply with regulation, anyone under 17 is classed as a child.
For a child to climb at Craggy Island Guildford they must be supervised by a registered adult climber who has a supervisory membership or be on one of our instruced courses (such as parties, School or Group visits, tasters, private tuition or clubs). In each case the under 17 will have to have a completed parental consent form before being allowed to climb.
Junior Competancy Test - Over 14's have the ability to take a special pre-booked test to assess their climbing ability with an instructor. This is a comprehensive test up to an hour long that takes in all elements of indoor climbing at Craggy Island and ensures they are competent to climb in our environment. Once passed they will be given special junior membership to climb un-supervised.
To book for this test please contact reception on 0844 8808866.
