OK girls, that's got rid of them for a while :)
The fact is, while climbing is often talked about as a male dominated sport you know that is far from the case and so do we. While blokes are grunting up routes trying to look hard the fairer sex are there too, but doing it with more style. We now have ladies sessions at both Guildford AND Sutton, please see below.
Guildford
At Craggy Island Guildford, we have a thriving ladies customer base and want to encourage you to join our Ladies Climbing Sessions.
Weekly sessions are on Mondays 10.00am to 12.30pm and 7.00pm to 9.00pm Wednesdays 7.00pm to 9pm. Cost is just £10 per session for a member and includes a free drink from the cafe. Of course you are also welcome to stay on after the session ends.
The emphasis will be on FUN! So come on girls, put the boys to shame and show them who is the stronger sex!
Each week we will start off with a short discussion on various aspects of climbing by a qualified female instructor, who will be on hand to help you with all kinds advice about technique, the right equipment and followed by a free hot or cold drink in the Island Cafe to help you relax and recover.
You will be able to meet new friends with whom to swap hints and tips and of course get a regular belayer. . . We even organise occasional outdoor sessions too! The world is your oyster - see you there.
This session is only for Craggy Island members or experienced climbers who can pass our registration test or beginners who come along with an experienced climber or member as this is not a fully instructed session.
Sutton
We have now started our Ladies sessions at Sutton running every Tuesday from 7pm to 9pm and its the same price as normal entry! Heloise, our intrepid instructor, is running the session and really enjoying seeing the numbers grow and how motivating it is to have like minded ladies helping each other with their climbing.
Like the long running Guildford club, it is an unformal drop-in club with the emphasis on fun and a great way to hook up with other like minded climbers. So remember to make your climbing night Tuesday night and we look forward to seeing you there!
