Information updated on Sunday 30th of August 2020
Please ensure you read our Coronavirus Policy for further information on what we’re doing to protect our Staff and Customers.
Latest Government Advice:
The Government have announced restrictions on groups meeting socially and this is only allowed up to a maximum of 6 people. However, the Government allow exceptions where groups can be larger than 6 people, including: organised indoor and outdoor sports, physical activity and exercise classes.
- Regular/Member climbing at Craggy is unaffected. We ask that you do not attend with the intention to climb in a group larger than 6 people and self-police this when meeting friends at Craggy, even if it was not your intention to climb as part of a large group when you arrived.
- We will continue to keep contact details for all visitors to the centres in line with our commitments to Track & Trace. There is no change to our procedures in collecting these when you check in at Reception on each visit.
- Instructed Groups: Kids Clubs, Intro Sessions, Birthday Parties, Tasters, etc. These sessions will still go ahead as booked and planned. Craggy Island is considered to be “COVID-Secure”, given the measures we’ve introduced to limit the risks to our customers and staff. Please observe our Bookings Ts & Cs. All that we ask is that you consider how you travel to the centre in order to comply with the guidance whilst outside of Craggy Island.
- We ask that Adults and children aged 11 and over wear a face covering whilst in circulation areas within the centre. This is not required whilst you are in the climbing area.
If you have any questions, please email us at email@example.com or call us on 01483 388069 for advice.
No Caving – it’s an enclosed space which, by nature of what it is, is poorly ventilated and difficult to maintain social distancing and cleanliness. At this time there is no access to the caves for member climbing or groups/sessions.
You need to pre-book! We are operating a slot booking system for all Members. These need to be pre-booked before arrival.
Want to come to Craggy for the first time? Please contact us by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or phone on 01483 388069 and we can advise you as to whether you can register with us at this time or what the options are if you can’t.
Hoping to supervise your child, a family member or friend? We’re trying to limit the time that customers spend in Reception, the contact that you need to have with our staff and the number of touch points as you pass through this area. We are only allowing Members to supervise their own children to start with – no supervision of Adults at this time. If you have supervised your child previously then they’ll be registered on our system already. If in doubt, please get in touch prior to your visit so we can ensure your process for entry is as efficient as possible when you arrive. You must pre-book them online before arrival. Please contact us by email at email@example.com if you have any questions.
Need to hire Shoes? We have taken the decision not to hire out any kit in the short-term. Our hire kit is touched all over as part of it’s normal use. Current guidelines dictate that each item of hire kit needs to be isolated for a period of 3 days after it’s use to be clear of any possible viral contamination. This just won’t be practical for us at this time so there will be no hire kit available – not even if you ask really nicely. This will be reviewed daily and in line with any new guidance from the Government.
Hoping to book a Taster or other Instructed session? We are accepting bookings from September and you can book online for all of our courses here.
