Information updated on Friday 11th of September 2020
At Guildford we are limiting the number of people in the building so we can take into account social distancing recommendations. Please ensure you read our Coronavirus Policy for further information on what we’re doing to protect our Staff and Customers.
Latest Government Advice:
The Government have announced restrictions on groups meeting socially and this is only allowed up to a maximum of 6 people. However, the Government allow exceptions where groups can be larger than 6 people, including: organised indoor and outdoor sports, physical activity and exercise classes.
- Regular/Member climbing at Craggy is unaffected. We ask that you do not attend with the intention to climb in a group larger than 6 people and self-police this when meeting friends at Craggy, even if it was not your intention to climb as part of a large group when you arrived.
- We will continue to keep contact details for all visitors to the centres in line with our commitments to Track & Trace. There is no change to our procedures in collecting these when you check in at Reception on each visit.
- Instructed Groups: Kids Clubs, Beginner Courses, Birthday Parties, Tasters, etc. These sessions will still go ahead as booked and planned. Craggy Island is considered to be “COVID-Secure”, given the measures we’ve introduced to limit the risks to our customers and staff. Please observe our Bookings Ts & Cs. All that we ask is that you consider how you travel to the centre in order to comply with the guidance whilst outside of Craggy Island.
- We ask that Adults and children aged 11 and over wear a face covering whilst in circulation areas within the centre. This is not required whilst you are in the climbing area.
If you have any questions, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call us on 01483 388081 for advice.
We’re now taking new Registrations at Craggy Guildford and we can also now take bookings for Bouldering Inductions!
Hire Kit: We have taken the decision not to hire out any kit in the short-term due to current guidelines. This will be reviewed daily and in line with any new guidance from the Government.
If you’ve never been to Craggy before and just want to boulder, you can book a 20-minute Bouldering Induction with one of our Instructors.
Or, if you know your knots and how to belay, you can take your registration test at Reception when you arrive (no need to pre-book).
If you’re looking to bring a Novice, please get in touch by email guildford@craggy-Island.com to see if you’re qualified as a Supervisor – if you are, we can send you a Novice Supervision form to fill in ahead of arrival to make check-in nice and smooth.
Ladies Session & Social Session. These sessions will not be up and running just yet. These sessions are instructor-led and encourage members to partner with someone they may not know. This will be reviewed regularly to be able to make a decision on when their likely return will be.
Hoping to supervise your child, a family member or friend? If you have supervised them previously then they’ll be registered on our system already. If in doubt, please get in touch prior to your visit so we can ensure your process for entry is as efficient as possible when you arrive but please note we are not currently hiring out kit.
BOOKINGS: We are accepting bookings from September and you can book online for all of our courses here.
