We are looking for 2 permanent Part Time Route Setters at Craggy Guildford!
With Mark Croxall moving on to start a new job (we wish him all the best!), we have a very exciting opportunity for 2 setters looking for regular work and the security of a permanent employment contract.
Mark will be heading up the interviews and training our Route Setters too before he leaves so your climbing is in safe hands.
Role: As one of our Route Setters you will be responsible for setting quality, enjoyable and varied routes on Top Rope, Lead and Boulder Walls throughout the centre. You will need to be able to set, climb and grade routes and boulder problems across the full spectrum of difficulty and styles.
Hours: 5 days per month. Your working days will be arranged in advance with the Centre Manager (your Line Manager) to meet the needs of the business.
Requirements: Applicants must be aged 18 years or over at time of application. All applicants must have experience of setting at a commercial indoor climbing centre. You should be comfortable working at height and from a ladder. Experience of setting from a scissor lift or cherry picker is desirable but not essential; paid training will be provided at whatever level is appropriate to the right applicants.
Pay: £150.00 per day.
How to apply: Please download and complete the Route Setter Application Form and send it along with a copy of your CV and a brief covering letter to Danie Rushmer at email@example.com. Danie will be happy to answer any questions in connection with this role. Closing date for applications is Friday 29th of March 2019. Successful applicants will need to be available to attend a workshop and assessment with Mark on Friday 5th of April 2019 – you will be expected to demonstrate that you are a competent Route Setter at this time. Start date will be the week of 15th of April and you will need to be available at some time during this week for training with Mark.
