We’re delighted to announce that we’re installing air conditioning at Craggy Guildford!
We will be installing cooling units around the centre which will blow cooled air to all corners with the exchanged hot air being vented off via fans in the roof.
We have been looking at innovative ways to reduce the heat in the centre for some time and we think we’ve at last got the right solution that will not only be effective but also kinder on the environment. The install date will be the week of 9th of July 2018 and there will be some disruption with closed off areas where the units are being located. We do not consider this to be any more restrictive than during route setting days and the centre will be open for climbing as usual.
Once complete we anticipate the atmosphere will be clearer and no more than 22 degrees Celsius, even near the roof. So no more excuses for it being too hot to grip the holds!
